Both Admission Tracks at a Glance
Both admissions use the same portal, so the key thing to get right is the selection route: one is based on a national test, the other on a CUSB entrance exam. Use this table to confirm which one applies to you:
| Programme | Selection Basis | Seats | Registration | Apply Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DBT M.Sc. Biotechnology Live |
GAT-B 2026 score / rank (NTA through RCB, DBT) | 10 | 03 to 12 Jul 2026 | cusbadm.samarth.edu.in |
| M.Sc. (Agriculture) Agronomy, Horticulture, Genetics & Plant Breeding Live |
CUSB Written Entrance Exam on 15 Jul 2026 (100 MCQ) | 15 (5 each) | 03 to 13 Jul 2026 | cusbadm.samarth.edu.in |
Which one applies to you? If you qualified GAT-B 2026, apply for the DBT M.Sc. Biotechnology programme. If you hold a B.Sc. (Ag./Hort.) and want an agriculture master's, apply for one of the three M.Sc. (Agriculture) programmes and sit the CUSB written entrance exam on 15 July 2026. You can apply for more than one programme if you are eligible, by paying a separate fee for each.
How to Apply (SAMARTH Portal)
Both admissions use the same portal. Register at cusbadm.samarth.edu.in. The process is straightforward:
- Check your qualifying test: Confirm you meet the eligibility and, where required, have a valid GAT-B 2026 score (Biotech) or are ready for the CUSB entrance exam (Agriculture).

Important Points Common to Both Tracks
Fee payment does not guarantee admission: Depositing the Admission Fee only blocks a seat. Final admission is granted strictly in order of merit, subject to eligibility verification, document verification, and seat availability.
Separate fee per programme: If you apply for more than one programme, a separate fee is payable for each application. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Watch the website, not your inbox: Cut-off marks, schedules, and admitted lists are published on the University website. Keep your registered email and mobile number active throughout the process.
